ECLIPSE DAY

PRIME VIEWING LOCATION IN THE RODEO CAPITAL OF TEXAS!

The total solar eclipse will take place on April 8, 2024. Totality will begin in Mesquite at 1:40 pm and peak at 1:42 pm. In total, Mesquite will be in totality for 4 minutes and 8 seconds - longer than any other urban city in the DFW Metroplex.

DOWNTOWN MESQUITE ECLIPSE WATCH PARTY AT FRONT STREET STATION

Enjoy live music, food trucks, and vendors. Local businesses will have space themed food, drinks, and merchandise. The viewing party will be FREE for the public. Come on out and enjoy the eclipse with us!

ECLIPSE IN THE PARK

PASCHALL PARK

12 - 3 PM

Viewing party will be FREE for the public. There will be a classic car show, soccer dart, LED illuminated ninja climbing wall, live music and a moon pie eating contest!

Be one of the first 100 guests to receive a free meal provided by Bubba's 33. Meals will be at a discounted price for $7 once the free meals are claimed. Arrive early to snag official Solar Rodeo Eclipse glasses and t-shirts.

HISTORIC TOTAL ECLIPSE WATCH PARTY

11 AM - 4 PM

This event will require the purchase of a ticket. Attendees will receive complimentary official Solar Rodeo glasses with purchase. Amidst the eclipse, explore a meditative meadow, engage in a photography demonstration, groove to live music, and delve into the rich history of the park through guided historic tours.

SOLAR ECLIPSE FESTIVAL

MESQUITE ARTS CENTER

11 AM - 3 PM

Entry is free for the public and the first few lucky attendees will snag official Solar Rodeo eclipse glasses. Immerse yourself in a creative atmosphere with crystal wrapping, a T-shirt and photography workshop, live art, and a variety of vendors!

DALLAS COLLEGE WATCH PARTY

11 AM - 4 PM

Viewing party will be FREE for the public and a limited number of eclipse glasses will be distributed. Enjoy solar telescope viewing, an astronomy corner, and a mix of music while engaging in lawn games and arts and crafts for all.

ECLIPSE SAFETY

It is important to take the necessary safety precautions when viewing the solar eclipse. Do not look at the sun directly with the unaided eye or without specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing. Sunglasses are not approved for solar viewing. Viewing the sun or a solar eclipse improperly or without correct use of safe viewing equipment can lead to permanent eye damage.
